Welcome to the International Workshop on Flood Risk and Climate Change (IWFRC), Indian Chapter 2024, jointly organized by IIT Madras, India, and the University of Leeds, UK. Workshop Objectives
Our workshop is structured to help participants
Assess Local Flood Risks and Vulnerabilities
To enhance understanding of the specific flood risks faced by different regions, focusing on local environmental, social, and infrastructural vulnerabilities.
Develop Targeted, Actionable Flood Management Strategies
To collaboratively design practical and effective flood risk management strategies across four key areas: Grey Infrastructure, Green Infrastructure, Community Policy, and Emergency Preparedness.
Simulate Resource Allocation and Prioritization
To simulate the allocation of resources tailored to meet the flood risk management needs of each region, helping participants prioritize actions effectively.
Promote Cross-Regional Knowledge Sharing
To facilitate the exchange of ideas and insights by evaluating and investing in strategies developed by other participants, fostering global perspectives and solutions.
Contribute to Ongoing Research on Flood Risk Management
